Dangote refinery receives crude delivery of 48.6 million barrels

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has delivered a whopping 48.6 million barrels of crude oil to Dangote Petroleum Refinery in just 10 months.
This is according to Vanguard’s investigations, which revealed that the deliveries were made between December 2023 and September 2024, with an additional 11.7 million barrels already delivered on October 1.
Breakdown of the deliveries:
– December 2023*: 3.4 million barrels
– February 2024: 3.5 million barrels
– March 2024: 3.3 million barrels
– April 2024: 3.3 million barrels
– May 2024: 3 million barrels
– June 2024: 5.1 million barrels
– July 2024: 5.1 million barrels
– August 2024: 4.8 million barrels
– September 2024: 5.6 million barrels
– October 2024: 11.7 million barrels (so far)
Despite these significant deliveries, sources close to Dangote Refinery note that the volume supplied remains low compared to the refinery’s installed capacity of 650,000 barrels per day.
In related news, petrol imports have decreased by 12.6% to 20.29 billion liters in 2023, down from 23.24 billion liters in 2022. Additionally, the volume of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) imported rose to 4.94 billion liters in 2023, up from 3.99 billion liters in 2022.
