Defections: Esiso, Eugene, Ayemidejor, Anirah, Egbedi, Randy, Abeke receive APC decampees

No fewer than fifty members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Saturday September 25th, 2021 decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Sapele, Delta State.
The APC members led by the Vice chairman of Sapele Okpe community, Chief Onoriode Temiagin while commending PDP members for the warm welcome said that they decided to abandon APC ,having witnessed the tremendous development brought by the PDP led administration, while noting that they would work together with the party faithfuls to ensure that PDP continues to be victorious for the good of society. They admitted that they were swayed by the party’s unity and organizational ability.
The State PDP chairman, Chief Barr Kingsley Esiso while welcoming the defectors said they had taken the right decision by joining the largest party in Africa, but insisted that being a member was not enough “you must make sure you are a card carrying member of the party and ensure you have your voters card, this two things are very important so it is not only just joining the party” adding that the party would continue to be their brother’s keeper.
Esiso who was speaking at an enlarged PDP members special general meeting in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State also urged members to continue to pull resources together so as to help others. In his words: “We are not asking for much but if you are an appointee we expect you to always pull resources together every month to help others. You are not the most hardworking member in the party so please, as an appointee if you are receiving over three hundred thousand naira and you can’t pay ten thousand naira to help others, you are not a good man,” he said.
The meeting which was held at Chief Charles Obule’s house along Ugbeyiyi road also saw the party’s Chieftains from the party LGA Chairman, Chief Perkins Umukoro to the member representing Sapele at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Chief Felix Anirah, Chairman Sapele Local Government Area, Chief Eugene Inoaghan, PDP Chieftain Hon Austine Ayemidejor, PDP chieftain, Chief Charles Obule, Delta State commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon Julius Egbedi, PDP Chieftain, Mr Richard Randy Okotie, Hon Bright Abeke Commissioner Representing Sapele, Okpe, and Ethiope West Local Government Area on the board of DESOPADEC addressing the party faithfuls.
Over twelve million naira was raised at the meeting which was organised to foster unity among party members and cash evenly distributed among members with every ward getting their share of it.
Meanwhile, in continuation of the party’s effort in reaching out to other members of the PDP, over hundred persons from ward three and four benefited from the monthly cash pulled together by party leaders in the local government area.
Mr Lucky Edeh, former Councilor for ward three on his part gave cash empowerement to ten persons, thereby increasing the initially stipulated numbers.
The beneficiaries who were selected from across the two wards randomly thanked the party leaders with a pledge to continue to be loyal to the party, Akpomedaye Dennis, one of the beneficiaries thanked the party members for remembering them, insisting that they would continue to work assiduously for the good of the party and betterment of the society.
Dignatries present during the event include Chief Dr Austin Arieja, Chief Benson Okorodudu, Lady Joyce Jemirherhi, Chief Joseph Atseyinku, Chief Mrs Anirah, Chief Godday Okpako, Councilors and Supervising Councilors of the various wards and a host of other dignitries.
