Delta 2023: Loyibo is a political neophyte, says Otuaro is the best man to rule Delta -Group

Following the move by Chief MACDONALD LOYIBO, a self-styled prime minister of Tuomo kingdom to support Delta Central against the Ijaw governorship agenda, Greater Delta Project (GDP) has said he is a neophyte in Delta politics owing to his perceived reckless outburst against Ijaw governorship aspirants, adding that His Excellency Barr Kingsley Burutu Otuaro is the best candidate to rule Delta state come 2023.

The statement was contained in a press release signed by its spokesman Mr Lawson Awipi on Sunday evening.

The group asserted that the unprovoked attack put up by Loyibo against His Excellency, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Esq., His Excellency, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Distinguished Senator James Ebiowou Manager, Esq. and Olorogun David Edevbie over the 2023 Delta governorship race were not only disdainful but only showed that he is a neophyte in Delta politics.

The statement titled, “RE DELTA 2023: HOW PDP CHIEFTAINS BYPASSED IBORI, OKOWA TO PICK OBOREVWORI; MACDONALD LOYIBO IS A POLITICAL NEOPHYTE” said: “We have been inundated with the press interview allegedly granted to one Macdonald Loyibo, a self-professed Prime Minister of Niger Delta in the Vanguard Newspaper of April 23rd 2022 edition. In the said baneful publication, the self-acclaimed Prime Minister of Niger Delta who sometimes addressed himself as a lawyer duly called by the Legal Practitioners Act by bearing the appellation of “Barrister”, cast undignified and incendiary aspersions on His Excellency, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Esq., His Excellency, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Distinguished Senator James Ebiowou Manager, Esq. and Olorogun David Edevbie over the 2023 Delta governorship race.

The group’s spokesman described Loyibo as a man of no verifiable identity, adding that his original name is Macdonald Loyibo but suddenly changed to Mike Loyibo which is the name of his elder brother.

They narrated: “High Chief Macdonald Loyibo who now changed his name to Mike specifically referred to the duo of H.E, Kingsley Burutu Otuaro and Sen. James Ebiowou Manager as “are not better candidates and not worthy to represent Ijaw they are on their own.” While the KBO Campaign organization may not waste its precious time to respond to a neophyte in Delta politics who have no single political footing even in his Tuomo Community or his Tuomo Ward 3 politics in Burutu LGA, we wish to set the record straight.”

According to the statement, Kingsley Burutu Otuaro is eminently qualified to rule Delta State. “As the Deputy Governor and Chairman of Delta State Economic Council, KBO is one of the brains behind Gov. Okowa’s Prosperity for All Deltans agenda which has metamorphosed into Stronger Delta. His intellectual clouts and technical know-how in the affairs of his office have not only improved and better the economy of the State, but he has also contributed greatly to the growth of the nation’s economy as he was privileged to represent his Boss, (Gov. Okowa) in many occasions to attend the Nigerian Economic Council, chaired by the Vice President, His Excellency, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.

“KBO as an innately gifted peace and conflict resolution expert used his stout courage in conflict resolution to restore peace to the once volatile riverine areas in Lagos, Ogun and Ondo States in 2016. He extended the same peace and conflict resolution expertise to the Niger Delta region during the upsurge of militancy in 2016. And accordingly, peace was restored to the region within months of his intervention.

“As the Chairman of the Boundary Commission and Chieftaincy matters, Kingsley Burutu Otuaro’s stewardship for the past seven years has made Delta the most peaceful State in the Country. No wonder Gov. Okowa repeatedly called him a “dependable partner” who has given him a valuable contribution to the Government. The above facts and many more only point to the fact that KBO is more than qualified to rule Delta State.

“To manifest his qualification to rule the State, KBO has released a six-point development agenda for Delta State which is to make Delta, Nigeria’s State of first-choice, where dreams come true. His six-point development agenda is to sow and water the economic seed of an industrialized Delta and see it manifest in a way that creates jobs and massive opportunities for everyone living, working, and doing business in Delta. “We are very sure that the delegates in PDP will choose their preferred governorship aspirant through the policy statement of his manifesto as well as the understanding of the polity. KBO falls in that category and will be their first consideration before any other aspirants by God’s grace. Thus, his victory at the Party primary is certain by God’s grace.

“Macdonald Loyibo is not in any position to talk of the Ijaw governorship agenda as he is neither a member of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) and the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC)’s national or zonal executive nor a member of the Alaowei Broderick Bozimo’s-led Delta Ijaw 2023 Governorship Lobby Group. Whatever he said about the Ijaw governorship agenda is in his capacity which has no basis for the resolution of the Ijaw nation which is to have an Ijaw man rule Delta State come 2023.

“Macdonald Loyibo who is claiming to be a lawyer by bearing the appellation of Barrister should have provided his Enrollment Number at the Supreme Court and year of call for the general public to address him as a lawyer with confidence. Anything short of that may make the public think otherwise and of course, there’s a repercussion for anyone claiming to be a lawyer without duly being called to the Nigerian Bar.

“KBO as a frontline aspirant is not banking on endorsements by some fraudulently political parasites, deceptively milling around some unsuspecting aspirants to feed their stomach. He (KBO) is in the guber race to win and thus, will not have anything to do with those political hobos claiming some fictitious names as the King or Prime Minister of the universe.

“Of course, it was not an accident for KBO to sever his ties with Macdonald Loyibo having seen his fickle characters. Today, the so-called Prime Minister opened his mouth to call KBO not a better candidate. Well, that is the level of the clemency of his stomach hustling. We only pity those who are accommodating him in their fold. We knew that the leopard can hardly change its spots. Therefore those accommodating that ant-infested firewood should be ready for the visit of the lizard,” the group asserted.
