DELTA 2027: Group Urges Isoko Electorates to Prioritise Development in Voting Decisions
By Chukwunonso Eric, Warri.
An advocacy group under the umbrella of the Concern Sons and Daughters of Isoko Kingdom for Good Governance has called on eligible voters in Isoko North and Isoko South to remain vigilant and make informed choices ahead of the 2027 general elections in Delta State.
The group warned that the development of the Isoko Nation must not be treated as negotiable, stressing the need for voters to support candidates with genuine intentions to improve the socio-economic condition of the area.
In a statement made available to journalists, the group’s coordinator, Omogha Wilson Ajiri, lamented what he described as the prolonged underdevelopment and deplorable state of the Isoko Nation.
According to him, the people of Isoko should not forget the challenges confronting the area and must use the opportunity of the forthcoming elections to demand accountable and purposeful leadership.
Ajiri cautioned voters against compromising their votes for temporary political patronage or financial inducements, noting that selling votes could further worsen unemployment, hardship and underdevelopment in the region.
He emphasized that the future of Isoko Nation depends largely on the collective decisions of the electorate, urging residents to rise above personal interests and vote for candidates committed to meaningful development.
“The development of Isoko Nation is not negotiable. We must support leaders who genuinely have the interest of our people at heart,” he stated.
The group further appealed to stakeholders, community leaders and youths across the Isoko nation to actively participate in the democratic process and ensure that the interests of the people remain a top priority ahead of the 2027 elections.
