Delta Commissioner, Angele Commends IPF, Promises Support

The Commissioner for Housing, Delta State, Godknows Angele has commended the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum, IPF, for the innovative idea to form a unified body to propagate and correct the wrong impressions people had created about the Ijaw.

Angele stated this when he played host to the IPF during a courtesy call in his office at the State Secretariat, Asaba, on Thursday.

Speaking during the visit, IPF’s President, Comrade Ozobo Austin, said the visit was to intimate the Commissioner of the group’s aims and objectives and to seek results-oriented collaboration with critical stakeholders and leaders across Ijaw Nation.

Ozobo further said that the group was in need of support from key stakeholders across Ijaw nation to achieve its objectives.

In response, Angele, who is the immediate past two-time Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area, also pledged his unalloyed support to sustain the group’s bold initiative.

He affirmed that IPF had come to stay, noting that its importance in the media profession cannot be over-emphasised and that the group’s was formed at the right time for the right purpose.

He continued, “IPF mandate is in tandem with the MORE AGENDA of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration, and as such, it will enjoy the necessary support to thrive.

“I’ve keenly followed the activities of the IPF and I can say that your intentions for Ijaw nation are of good. Like the INC and IYC, we have another forceful group, IPF. I urge you to maintain professionalism and neutrality at all times and don’t allow people with bad intentions to use you for selfish gains,” -Angele charged.

Other members of the IPF delegation include, Oyinbi Onduku – Vice President, Tare Magbei – Secretary, Perez Bibaikefie – Assistant Secretary, Mike Ugedi – Financial Secretary, Francis Abai – Researcher, Friday Mingo, treasurer, Tamaraupreye Ekpegha, member and others.
