Delta Govt promises to complete Ayakoromo bridge in next 15 months, reviews project to 10.5billion

The governor of Delta state, his Excellency senator Ifeanyi Okowa has given 15months standing order to complete the Ayakoromo bridge as the contract was review from N6 billion to N10.5 billion.

According to the Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, the review was part of decisions reached at the first State Executive Council meeting in 2022, which was presided over by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Thursday.

The commissioner briefed reporters in Asaba that the contract for the construction of the bridge which was awarded in 2013 had to be reviewed as a result of present economic realities in the country.

Aniagwu, maintained that the project was priority to the present administration in the state, noting that it was expected to be completed and inaugurated within the next 15 months.

His words: “The Ayakoromo bridge project also came up today at the Exco meetings, and the Exco has approved an upward review of that contract which was awarded in 2013 at the initial cost of about N6 billion.
