Maritime Varsity faults publication referring the school settlement as Okerenghiho

Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta state has faulted a news publication by a national newspaper referring the school settlement as Okerenghiho.

Reacting to the embarrassment, the management demanded for the immediate correction of the error by a national newspaper, (name withheld).

Congress gathered that the error was detected in a photograph on page 3 of the national newspaper, of January 19, 2022, describing the school settlement as Okerenghiho instead of Okerenkoko community.

This was contained in statement by the Registrar of the University, Dr Alfred Mulade where he urged Journalists to double check their information before going to the press.

The Management further reiterated that the Nigeria Maritime University, is in Okerenkoko community, Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State and not in Okerenghiho.

“For the records, all documents of the school is Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Warri South West Local Government, Delta State, not Okerenghiho, Warri as reported by the national newspaper of January 19, 2022.

“The paper should, please, correct this error in your publication of January 20, 2022.”
