Delta Police Intensify Visibility Policing, Impound 31 Vehicles in Agbor

The Delta State Police Command has intensified its statewide visibility policing and enforcement operations, impounding 31 vehicles during a coordinated patrol in Agbor over various traffic and vehicle registration offences.
The enforcement exercise, conducted on Friday, July 3, 2026, was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Operations (DOPS). The operation covered the Agbor metropolis, major highways, entry and exit routes, as well as border communities between Delta and Edo states, with the aim of strengthening security, deterring criminal activities, and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the affected vehicles were impounded for offences including failure to display registration number plates, obscured or covered number plates, expired vehicle particulars, and other traffic-related violations. The Command disclosed that the vehicles would be charged before a court of competent jurisdiction.
The Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-led policing and strategic enforcement operations across Delta State. He urged motorists to comply with all traffic and vehicle registration requirements, stressing that strict enforcement is vital to public safety, effective crime prevention, and the maintenance of law and order.
The Command reiterated its resolve to maintain a strong police presence across the state as part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and deny criminal elements any opportunity to operate.
