Delta varsity music HOD, others kidnapped

The Head of Musical department of the Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU), has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Congress report that the gunmen kidnapped the HOD of the musical department, Prof. Ovaborhene Idamoyibo and others who were with him in his Toyata Highlander Jeep in Ethiope-East LGA of Delta State Nigeria.

It was gathered the victims were been attacked by the unknown gunmen on Saturday night.

A source said the university lecturer and two others who were with him in his Toyata Highlander Jeep made attempt to escape but unfortunately the gunmen chased, shot and punctured their vehicle before abducting them.

According to the source, the wife of the varsity HOD, Mrs. Rosemary Idamoyibo had narrated that the gunmen gave her an untimatum to secure the release of her husband on Friday this week. She also noted that the gunmen requested for an amount of fifty million naira ransom in release of her husband.

However, effort to reach Delta State Police spokesman DSP Bright Edafe for comment proved abortive as his phone was not ringing at the time of filing this report.
