Delta Youths Congratulate Newly Appointed Commissioners, Charge Them On Inclusive Governance

The apex youth body of Delta State, the Coalition of Delta Indigenous Youth Leaders Forum, has congratulated all the newly appointed Commissioners in the State and thanked the Governor, His Excellency RT. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the careful selection and appointment of people of track record into the various ministries in the state.

The body which is the apex youth body in the state, regulates activities of youths in Communities, Kingdoms, Ethnic Nationalities and youth bodies in Delta State. The body provides an opportunity for the Youths of Delta State to come together under one platform to liaise with the Government, Security agencies, Traditional rulers, Non-governmental Organizations, and other relevant Stakeholders in and outside Delta State to promote Peace, Unity, Security, and Economic Stability, and all-round Growth & Development in the State, and Nigeria at Large.

The organization was birthed to team with the alarming rate of crimes and criminalities such as Cultism, Kidnapping, Insurgency, Violence, and other social activities due to high rates of Unemployment, Moral degradation, Illiteracy, Poor pedigree, immoral values orientation, and other forms of illegalities among the youths, which negatively impact on the overall growth and development of Delta State, and Nigeria at large.

The body, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Comr Gometi O Crested, thanked the Governor, His Excellency (Elder) Sheriff Oborovwori for the careful selection of the people of capacity into the various ministries in the state.

He charged the commissioners to carry out their responsibilities with utmost dedication and commitment to their respective assignments as the current situation of the state required extra effort and sacrifices by leaders at all levels to recover the lost glory of the state.

“The emergence of this body is to complement the effort of political and traditional rulers, as well as security agencies to reposition Delta State to be attractive to both local and international investors, and this can only happen when all stakeholders play their expected role to support the agenda of the Governor.

“The activities of youths are now being directed to corporately work to support all relevant stakeholders in Delta State for the promotion of Peace and Security across all Communities with the focus of enhancing all-round growth and development in the State,” he added.

He further charged the commissioners to run an all-inclusive leadership to accommodate the youths into their scheme of activities, “as we have resolved to give maximum support for the Government to serve better.

“We therefore appeal to all the commissioners to serve in fairness and justice throughout their tenures.

“I also use this opportunity to once again advise Delta Youths to stay off all forms of illegalities, especially illegal levies in the rural and urban communities, and come out fully to support the Government, Traditional rulers and Security agencies to work towards achieving a crime-free society that will promote the image of the State and attract investors from far and near,” he added.
