Edo Elders Endorse Okpebholo for Governor, Cite Priorities for Development
By Peters Monday, Abuja
The Edo Elders Forum (EEF) has thrown its weight behind Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, citing his vision and commitment to development as reasons for their endorsement.
Chairman of the EEF, Chief Efua Abudu, accused the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of failing to improve the state and emphasized the need for a governor who cares about public education, health, environment, women, youths, and the elderly.
The elders praised Okpebholo’s understanding of Edo voters’ economic struggles and his promise to work towards making the state a better place to live. They vowed to ensure his election, stating that it is a project of the Edo people.
The EEF highlighted Okpebholo’s vision for the state, including:
– Building structures for real development
– Translating hopes into viable reality
– Fighting for honest and transparent government
– Protecting the interest of Edo people
– Building infrastructure
– Appointing people from all senatorial zones into key positions
– Creating an enabling environment for businesses to flourish
– Protecting the wealth of the people
The elders urged the electorate to reject political extremism, unremarkable politicians, brutal dictatorship, and administrative incompetence, emphasizing that a vote for APC is a vote for transparency, accountability, and development.
