Edo Ijaw community rejoices over inauguration of new executive comittee

Inikorogha Community in Ovia South Local Government Area of Edo State has rejoiced over the successful inauguration of new executive committee in the community.

This was stated in a statement made available to Congress correspondent in Benin on Wednesday.

They said some suspected criminal elements have seized the community for a breeding ground of crime over the years but after long oppression and suffering from these shenanigans things were gradually changing hand.

The community also thanked Hon. Godstime Ogidigba, Comrade Ezekiel Daniel, Hon. Suny Kiriyal , Madam Victoria Potoki, Tikima Arigba who it said went extra miles in raising funds and other logistics for the successful and peaceful inauguration of the new executive committee in the community. They prayed almighty God to replenish their pockets.

According to them, “the thank will not be completed if it fails to appreciate the Titanic roles of various media bodies, especially Vanguard Newspaper in bringing to the attention of the public the pathetic situation of Inikorogha people.

“We are still calling on the Federal and state governments to do more in focusing more security light on Inikorogha community, especially stationing a military base in the community to permanently put a stop to gangsterism and other terror acts as those just lost power are still threatening thunder and fire, they added.

They maintained: “There is a saying that after rain comes sun shines. This proverb perfectly fits into situation Inikorogha Community find itself in the last 13 years, where a group of misguided youths led by a suspected ex- militant held the community sway.

“He became the Alpha and Omega, controlling everything that comes and go out of the community, be it funds, revenue, government appointment, project etc”.
