Edo: Ogidigba commends Obaseki for sustainable peace, Developmt in Ijaw communities




• Promises Massive support for PDP’s candidate, Ighodalo/Osharodion

The Special Assistant to Edo State Governor on waterways Security and Surveillance, Hon. Godstime Ogidigba has commended governor Godwin Obasiki, his boss for sustainable peace and development in Ijaw communities in Edo State.


Citing the ongoing road, jetty projects in Ofuniama, Inikorogha, Abere, Gboba and other Ijaw communities in the state, Ogidigba on Friday applauded the commitment and passionate efforts of the governor in addressing security and developmental challenges bedevilling the Ijaw communities in the state.


Commending the governor, Ogidigba said the effort of the governor should be applauded by every well-meaning Ijaw leader and stakeholder in the state.


He thanked the governor for the peace enjoyed by residents of the Inikorogha community, stating that Inikorogha residents can now sleep with their eyes close unlike the days some miscreants put the community in captivity.


Ogidigba maintained that Obasiki was a God sent to Inikorogha and other Ijaw communities by restoring sanity in the area.


The statement reads, “I’m from the Inikorogha Community in Ovia South West LGA of Edo State. First and foremost, I want to thank His Excellency Godwin Obaseki for a wonderful job he is doing by fixing the Inikorogha/Ofoni-ama road.


“Again, I commend him for the provision of proper security in this part of the state, before now, this road was a criminal den. It was a no-go area, nobody had wanted to invest his or her money on any business until His Excellency, deployed security to the Inikorogha community and its adjoining roads, and by the grace of God, economic activities have improved as you can see, people comes in and load goods from here to Warri, Asaba and every parts of the country.


“Meanwhile, we are also thanking Mr Governor, Obaseki for the two Jetty projects that have been ongoing, one at Inikorogha and simultaneously at Ofoni-ama communities. I think if these projects are completed, it will boost the economic activities of these two communities.


“The riverine area Communities are fully ready to support His Excellency’s Candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo and Barr. Osharodion Ogie

for the forthcoming Governorship election. The Riverine Communities are ready, if the Governorship election is today, we are good to go, we the Riverine people want to thank and appreciate the governor for all he had done for the riverine people. We are grateful and we are going to reciprocate with our vote on September 21, 2024.


“We equally promised that we will also sustain the peace the governor has brought for us, we will not joke with it and not to tolerate any sabotage on these laudable projects and achievements. Be it religions or political angles, we will not take it likely, and once again we thanked and appreciate the governor for a job well done”, he emphasised.
