Edo Riverine Coalition Hails INEC For Voters Registration Extension, Urges Legible Riverine Voters To Come Out En masse To Register

The Coalition of Riverine Communities in Edo State has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for extending the voter registration exercise till Saturday 9th June, 2024. According to them, this move has created an opportunity for eligible voters in the riverine communities to register and participate in the upcoming electoral process in the state.
In a statement by the coalition National President, Comrade Ipiteikumoh Godfrey Owei, Secretary, Mr. Samuel Uroupa, spokesperson, Hon. Ezekiel Daniel and Publicity Secretary, Hon. Ayidi Ikiyokepere Sunny urged all eligible voters in the Edo riverine communities to take advantage of the extension and register en masse. They emphasised the importance of registering and voting, saying it is the only way to ensure their voices are heard and their interests represented.
The coalition praised INEC for its efforts to ensure inclusivity and fairness in the electoral process following the appeal by the leaders and stakeholders of the coalition during a meeting with INEC in the state. They encouraged all stakeholders to work together to ensure a credible and peaceful election.
“By registering and voting, the people of Edo riverine communities can shape their future and hold leaders accountable”, they added.
However, the coalition’s call to action is a clarion call to all eligible voters to exercise their civic duty and make their voices heard.
