Eid fitr: Education minister apologizes to striking varsity lecturers

Following the continuous strike of Nigeria University Lecturers, the minister of education Mallam Adamu Adamu has apologized to striking lecturers for failing to respond to their demands on time.

The minister, who spoke shortly after the Ramadan fast said the season was a session of forgiveness and that there was no was no animosity between the federal government and striking lecturers.

Mallam Adamu, however, asked the university lecturer to forgive the federal government for not meeting ASSU demands as expected, adding that the government was making move for further engagement with ASUU striking lecturers.

“It is in that spirit of forgiveness of the just ended Ramadan fast that we feel that we fixed the meeting to discuss and resolve the issues.”

He suggested a new round of negotiations to be reopened soon.
