Embattled Naira Marley, Mohbad’s manager decline reps’ invitation

Azeez Fashola, better known by his stage name Naira Marley, is a Nigerian singer who turned down an invitation from the House of Representatives regarding royalties and recompense for his late signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba (also known as Mohbad).
It was gathered Naira Marley’s legal representative sent a letter via the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN) to house of representatives committee stating why the embattled singer could not honour the invitation.
According to reports, Naira Marley and Jiggy Adeoye’s were called to an interactive session by the house’s Committee on Justice, Youth, and Legislative Compliance on Tuesday, October 31, as part of efforts to ensure that Mohbad received fair compensation and royalties.
To advise the committee on future legislative action, the MPs stated that Naira Marley and Mohbad’s manager were required in a letter dated October 26, 2023, which was signed by Barr. Yusuf Ibrahim, the committee’s clerk.
However, Naira Marley’s attorney responded to the lawmakers via PMAN, stating that the controversial artist would not be attending the interactive session since he was being held by the police as per a court order.
