I’ve come a long way under Steve Cooper – Awoniyi
By Hannah Nathan, Warri
Taiwo Awoniyi, a striker for Nottingham Forest, stated that manager Steve Cooper had significantly improved his game.
At the moment, Awoniyi is regarded as one of the most formidable forwards in the English premier league.
The 26-year-old, who ended as the Tricky Trees’ leading scorer, was acquired by Cooper from Bundesliga team Union Berlin last summer.
This season, the striker had already scored three goals.
With a groin injury keeping him out of play until next week, Awoniyi is anticipated to be back in action.
He told Liverpoolfc.com, “He is one of the best coaches I have worked under.”
“The way he goes about things, the way he speaks to players and the confidence he gives to the players.
“We had a lot of pressure last season, but you could see in his eyes that he always believed. He knew we were going to stay up.
“That is what every player wants from their manager. He gives you the belief that you can really get to the peak of your career.
“That is if you are ready to work for him and go for it. I have learned so much in my time in England already.
“And I can tell you for a fact that I have improved so much.”
