#Endbadgovernance: Nigeria will explode if challenges not addressed timely -Obasanjo
By Preye Kpaidia
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has warned that Nigeria is “sitting on a keg of gunpowder” if the government fails to address the legitimate demands of the #EndBadGovernance protesters.
The protesters are calling for an end to bad governance, and their demands include a single six-year term for the president and governors, power rotation between the northern and southern parts of the country, and a single day for presidential, governorship, national assembly, and state assembly elections.
Obasanjo emphasised that the government should listen to the protesters’ cries and stop deceiving the masses that all is well. He noted that the youth are frustrated, hungry, angry, and unemployed, and they deserve to be given listening ears.
The Take It Back Movement, one of the groups behind the protests, has announced a one-million-man march set for Saturday across all 36 states.
