A young guy has been detained by the Enugu State Police Command on suspicion of killing his sister, Miss Ukamaka Orji, and mother, Mrs Charity Orji, and burying them in a shallow grave in their garden.

According to reports, the crime was committed on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Umuagu Inyi in the Oji River Local Government Area by the culprit, Somadina Orji of Igboariam in Anambra State.

The late Charity, who was born in India but married in Igboariam, Anambra State, had been residing in her family home with her children for a long time, according to several testimonies and video recordings of the incident.

According to the article, her son, who is accused of dealing drugs and has been after a protracted argument with her over his actions, decided to kill her.

However, according to Mr Ben Obi, an Inyi community leader who spoke with multiple media, the problems started a few weeks ago when the suspect got into a fight with the suspect’s younger brother.

The event was confirmed on Sunday by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, who stated that the suspect had been arrested and that an investigation was still underway.

Ndukwe declared that as soon as the investigation was finished, he would be charged in court.

“The suspect has been arrested, and the case is under investigation. The suspect would be prosecuted once investigations are concluded,” he said.
