Some executive members of the Egbema Youths Council (EYC) have debunked an online publication made by the group’s President and its Secretary, endorsing Gen Aroni Oputu to take charge of the pipeline Security Surveillance in Warri north, adding that the statement was made without critical consultation among the Executives and stakeholders of Council.

According to a statement signed by the Vice president of the Egbema Youth Council, Comrade Aaron Daniel, Comrade Engr MKK Ejemi(PRO), Comrade Henry G Ominijei (Assist Secretary General), Comrade Alex Kimipamini Ofeye (Financial Secretary), Comrade Happy Nawei (Woman leader), Hon Comrade Ruth Erin-Ebimi (Organizing Secretary) and Comrade Aganimitei Boyloaf Ugami (Student Representative) said the unpopular position canvassed by the group’s President and secretary which was published online was mischievous and politically motivated as it lacked proper consultation.

The statement reads partly, “It will interest the general public to know that the president and the Secretary have been conducting themselves in a manner the other executive members find discomforting, which may cause breakdown of law and order in the kingdom. To this effect, the duo have been giving a sanction letter through the Parliament, Stakeholders and BOT due to their mismanagement of fund, misconduct and abusive of office.

The aggrieved vice chairman and other executive members stated, “EYC is saying that at no time the body authorize the duo to embark on any thoughtless publication before they dubiously went ahead using the council name to make publication for their selfish interest. EYC is not a partisan body, rather a mediators and bridge of peace between kingdoms and Nigeria as large. EYC is not an embodiment of anarchy or chaos between two parties and kingdoms.

“Therefore, the entire Executives are using the medium to inform the public that, the publication made by the council’s President; City Kelvin Eferusuoa and the Secretary; Ekpokeme Governor was not unanimously agreed by the Executive members of the Egbema Youth Council as well as the entire youth body in the kingdom. Therefore the public should discard that information.

“The core aims and objectives of EYC encapsulated by the founding members are to act as messenger of peace by playing mediatory role not to serve as embodiment of anarchy and lawlessness.

“However, anybody can bid for a contract in any organisation as well as Nigeria as a whole following the due process or channel, therefore, we the Executive of EYC urge Gen Aroni Oputu to follow the due process in his dealings.

“The executive use this medium to appreciate GOC, Tompolo through his CSO, Chief Kari Ebipatei for his benevolent sacrifices to Ijaw nation as a whole.

“Long live Egbema kingdom
Long live Ijaw Nation”, the statement reads.
