FG sends rice palliatives to 36 States

By Peters Monday, Abuja
The Federal Government has dispatched 20 trucks of rice to each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to alleviate the food crisis and economic burden on Nigerians.
According to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, each truck contains 1,200 bags of 25kg rice, totaling 24,000 bags per state.
The government has urged state governors to ensure equitable distribution to those in greatest need. This move is part of measures to address food shortages and hardship, with the Federal Government promising continued support to sub-nationals to breach the food supply gap.
Furthermore, the Federal Executive Council had directed the expedited rollout of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered vehicles and increased compliance with the CNG initiative to reduce reliance on PMS and aid energy transition.
