Several Communities in Delta and Edo states have been taken over by flood, following heavy downpour which lasted for three days.

Congress learnt that Warri and its neigbouring Effurun areas were badly affected as no fewer than fifteen buildings, including private schools had their roof top blown off by the rain.

The situation was described as pitiable as Marine Quarters and Ogedegbe areas of the metropolis suffered heavy devastating effects of the natural disaster.

Meantime, scores of vehicles and other means of transportation had been grounded as majority of them could not move out of their residence.

The situation at Effurun, parts of Ijaw riverine communities were also not spared as the area are already being threatened by the perennial rainfall that had been ravaging the communities since the beginning of the year.

Investigation also revealed that Isoko area, several Urhobo communities and parts of Ndokwa axis that have been the source of food supply are gradually being submerged following the fast approaching flood that always ravage the areas.

A comprehensive investigation in some parts of the state ranging from Agbarho, Abavo, down to Orhiomwon local government and Auchi areas of Edo state had become a no-go area as the usual yearly flood had started even as majority of the inhabitants are gradually relocating to neigbouring towns and villages.
