Flood wreaks havoc in Kiagbodo, ancestral headquarters of Ngbilebiri-Mein Kingdom

Residents of the Kiagbodo community, the ancestral headquarters of Ngbilebiri-Mein Kingdom have cried out over the ravaging flood, wreaking havoc in the community.The groaning victims said residents of the community are being trapped, stressing that properties worth millions of naira including fish ponds and farm products had been ravaged by the flood.The community lamented that despite the excruciating pains of the increasing flood, the effort of the state government towards evacuating trapped victims was poor.A source who hinted Congress newspaper lamented that all houses are underwater, noting that dug-out canoes have become means of transport for house-to-house movement to rescue property of victims to other communities yet to be affected by the flood.The sources said the flood had ravaged all known means of livelihood in the community, adding that residents are wallowing in extreme hunger and pain.The community, however, called on the Delta State government and National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA to come to the aid of the community and bring succour to them.
