Youths under the auspices of Ogbe-Ijoh Interest and Defence Forum, (OIDF) have accused the Aladja community of launching unprovoked attacks on the community on Wednesday 12th July, 2023.

This was contained in a statement by its national president, Comrade Smart Okosu and women leader, General Ebiakpo Warekuromo on Friday.

The group faulted the report by a faceless news outfit, self-styled as Actualnews, saying that Ogbe-Ijoh hoodlum’s attack on Aladja was false and was made to mislead the gullible masses.

The duo maintained that Ogbe-Ijoh does not have hoodlums and never at any time launched an attack on the Aladja community, adding that the report was face-saving and that the general public should disregard it.

“The mischievous report by Aladja youths is not new to the Ogbe-Ijoh community being the fact that such is a character of the Aladja community,” the group added.

The group further narrated that the Aladja youths had been launching constant unprovoked attacks on the Ogbe-Ijoh community in recent times.

They said before the Wednesday unprovoked attack where two girls were shot, two weeks ago, Aladja youths had launched another unprovoked attack on the Ogbe-Ijoh community destroying buildings, doors, window glasses and others.

He reemphasised that the two girls shot in the Ogbe-Ijoh community by Aladja youths are currently in hospital admission in an undisclosed clinic in Warri.

According to the group, the land dispute is already in court, adding that Aladja youths should refrain from unprovoked attacks and wait patiently for the outcome of the court process.

The group said the military and police in the area are aware of the several attacks launched against the Ogbe-Ijoh community by their Aladja neighbours.

The group called on the governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori to call Aladja leaders and Youths to order, noting that the Ogbe-Ijoh community would retaliate if the attacks continued.
