Gunmen, cultists, robbers went on rampage in Abraka

Abraka community in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta state was once a peaceful community, until the wake of robbery, kidnapping and cult activities in the area.

The community is the host of Delta State University. It has a befitting police division and host of many prominent politicians in the state.

It has been a while when some rampaging criminal elements hold sway in the community. These rampaging criminal elements involved in stealing, kidnapping, killing and cult clashes in the community.

It was learnt that their activities have greatly affected commercial activities in the area negatively. Many businesses closed between 5 and 6pm for fear of possible attack.

A source hinted Congress newspaper said residents no longer walk with phone in their hands or gold on their neck as the boys operate at every time of the day without being interrupted by the security operatives.

A resident said some of the rampaging criminal elements specialized in kidnaping and hire-killing in the community.

The resident added that many people have fleed the community for fear of attack on their homes unprovoked, following the recent abduction of a pastor and killing of his wife in the community.

It was gathered the police and other security operatives in the community are helpless on the situation.

The criminal elements always have their field and broad days operation in respective of the security presence in the area.

Congress was told that many residents have been killed unprovoked and others taken hostage.

Many reportedly suffered cult attacks, money, gold stolen and motorists and commuters robbed at every intervals in a broad day.

However, Abraka has been turned to unsafe heaven for residents, visitors and business operators.

The residents had called on the commissioner of police Delta state to restrategise and dislodge the rampaging criminal elements in the community.
