Gunmen kill 2 in Udu-Warri

Tragedy has struck Ovwian community in Udu local government area of Delta state as suspected gunmen assassinated two persons on Saturday evening.

The incident reportedly happened on Saturday 9th April, 2022 in Orhuwhorun road near Ekete waterside junction when the suspected gunmen chased after the deceased persons in a vehicle and shot them to death.

An eye witness said the victims appeared to be ‘Yahoo boys’ and before they were shot death, they hit an electric pole with their vehicle in a bid to escape from their assailants.

It was learnt that the gunmen trailed the deceased persons to
Orhuwhorun road where they were assassinated.

The gunmen after killing the two occupants of the vehicle, shot intermittently to scare residents and sympathizers before living the scene.

However, information about the cause of the incident was still sketchy at the time of filing this report.

Meantime, the corpses and the vehicle of the victims had been retrieved by the police of Ovwian Division.
