Gunmen kill security guard, other in Warri

Suspected gunmen have shot dead a security guard at a hotel along the Okere Road by the Robert Road Junction in Warri, Delta state.

The incident occurred at about 7:00 pm on Saturday, April 9, 2022, when the gunmen released fire at him.

In a related development, a young man who was travelling along Ginuwa Road on Friday, April 8, 2022, was shot dead in a commercial tricycle (keke).

It was learnt the deceased was shot severely and could not survive the attack, adding he died while receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in the city.

A source said the police and some vigilantes from the area have raided the area in charge of the criminal elements, noting that some arrests had been made.
