Gunmen siege Edo community, residents call for military intervention

Following the forthcoming governorship Election in Edo State, the Inikorogha community has started experiencing gun battles in broad daylight from the notorious exiled ex-agitator in the community.

Speaking at a press conference, the community Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, spokesman, treasurer,Youth leader, Elders, Chiefs and other Members have called for the swift intervention of the Edo State government, the military and the commissioner of police to come to their aid.

The youth president said, “I’m the Youth leader, this is the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, spokesman, treasurer, Elders and fathers and other community Members here present. We are using this opportunity to call on the Governor Godwin Obaseki, the commissioner of police and all other security agencies to please come to our aid, notorious ex-agitator and his boys, who have been declared wanted are back to the community with guns terrorising and perpetrating their criminal activities again in the Inikorogha community.

“The criminal boys came back with guns and other weapons attacking farmers, fisher men and women, the community is restless and unsafe for habitation currently now, we used this medium to tell the police DPO at Ogbobabogha to please amplify and lend our voice to the governor, commissioner of police, IGP to please come to our rescue.

“They have already shot China on the leg and killed one person in Mile 3 and they foist this killings under the guys of election campaigns to molest, rape and spread their evil activities.

“The community is under siege, people are scared of loosening their lives, so we are crying to the government as a matter of urgency to come to our rescue”

Speaking further, Gabriel Obriki, PRO Inikorogha Community, popularly known as Togi, said lives are made unbearable for indigenes of Inikorogha community by the fleeing ex-agitator, an extent individuals cannot expressed his or her pains, because, you will be flogged for saying what pains you or facing, it could be right or wrong.

“One Mr Night, popularly called Kokoba-rocket had been terrorizing the community for decades before the governor Obaseki’s timely intervention, the community was at last exonerated.

“Meanwhile, on April 13th to be precise, our amiable governor, Rt. Hon. Godwin Obaseki sent Police special forces to disarm and contained the criminal elements and their activities in the Inikorogha/Mile 3 area, the aftermath of the impeccable intervention brought some relative peace to the area.

“There was no molestation of elderly Men and young people in the Inikorogha community, all thanks to Godstime Ogidigba with the security squad to waged these notorious criminals.

“However, the worst is reverberating again, “we could not sleep yesterday, because of the political fracas that played out, those same group of boys whose names are on criminal cases in Court, especially, my cousin brother, who shot his own younger brother, Mr pepe and his criminal consortium are now gallivanting, canvassing and planning as political party Members to re-elect and re-strategize, probably foster their criminal activities.

“We are begging on the Edo State governor, His Excellency Godwin Obaseki to please, come to our aid and flush out these criminal elements, they want to use this election as bases and a template to create other fresh problems for our communities.

“We are also pleading on the Commissioner of police and other security outfits to please help us evacuate these murderers and criminals in their numbers from our community so we can enjoy the sustaining peace in the Inikorogha community again”, they said.
