I ‘ll tackle erosion threatening Gbekebor Community when elected – PDP Burutu Reps Candidate, Clark

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP candidate for Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ebipade Roland Clark, has vowed to tackle the erosion threatening Gbekebor Community when elected in the next general election. He made the pledge during an interactive session with leaders and stakeholders over the weekend.

Hon. Clark described the erosion menace in Gbekebor as a “pressing humanitarian and environmental emergency” that requires urgent federal intervention. He said the continuous washing away of the community land has displaced families, destroyed farmlands, and cut off access roads, leaving residents vulnerable. According to him, the community cannot wait any longer for solutions.

The PDP candidate assured constituents that he would prioritize Gbekebor’s plight at the National Assembly by sponsoring motions and engaging relevant agencies such as NDDC, Ecological Fund Office, and the Federal Ministry of Environment. He stressed that his representation would focus on delivering infrastructure that directly impacts the lives of riverine communities in Burutu LGA.

He also called on residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and vote for candidates with proven commitment to development. He noted that erosion control, youth empowerment, critical infrastructure and healthcare would form the core of his legislative agenda. “I will not only speak about your problems in Abuja, I will take action and ensure Gbekebor gets the attention it deserves,” he said.

However, the leaders and stakeholders who commended Hon. Clark for prioritizing Gbekebor Community, promised to mobilize voters for the PDP. They expressed hope that his election would bring lasting relief to the Gbekebor community, which has battled coastal erosion for over a decade without meaningful intervention from previous representatives.
