The Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Iduwini Clan has commended leaders and critical stakeholders of the clan for resolving the leadership crisis which almost tore the council apart.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed and issued by its Assistant Secretary, Enosh Samson, and the Treasurer, Timiye-Ebimene Ebiyekon in Yenagoa, the Capital of Bayelsa State, on Sunday, April 21, 2024, after the newly elected executive members of the Clan were presented with their certificates of office on 17th April 2024.

The duo, in the statement, appreciated the stakeholders for maintaining fairness and initiating their reinstatement after their names were removed unlawfully and replaced with those who did not contest the election.

Particularly, they poured encomiums on Honourable Alfred Akamu, Honourable Johnbul Cleopas, Honourable Timothy Geregere, Ambassador Tarasele Collins, Barrister Jeremiah Ikpaka, and the IYC Central Zone CLECO Chairman, Honourable Paul Ebikeseiye, for being unbiased irrespective of pressure from left and right, and ensuring that Enosh Samson representing Amatu 1 Community, and Timiye-Ebimene Ebiyekon, representing Letugbene Community were reinstated as Assistant Secretary and Treasurer of the clan respectively.

They also applauded the former Chairmanship aspirant of the IYC, Iduwini, Comrade Solomon Charles Ikpaka, whose voice was very loud in the fight against the unlawful deed which was masterminded by the former woman leader, Mercy Edoreh, and a few others who intended to throw the clan into confusion.

The members of council said they were very happy that when the criminal and offensive acts were done, and while everyone else was silent, the aforementioned stakeholders rose up to ensure that justice prevailed.

They also warned that nobody should go about impersonating them as they had been given certificates of return, noting that anyone caught would be dealt with according to the law. They further stated their resolves to work with other exco members and stakeholders of the clan to move the council forward.

In the same vein, chief IDOLO EBIFUOBO

also expressed profound gratitude to critical stakeholders of the clan for their timely intervention in resolving the leadership crisis in council.

He further emphasised that members of IYC in the clan should focus on building lasting legacy and refrained from things that would disunite them.
