Unidentified gunmen are said to have abducted a government official in Lagos State who has not yet been named.
According to information obtained, the incident occurred on Monday at the victim’s home at the Progressive Estate in Igbe-Oloja, Ikorodu. The victim is also known by his nickname, Jagaban.
Reports state that the victim is a senior employee of Government House, Alausa’s Revenue Department.
It was reported that the victim’s wife had been contacted by the kidnappers, who demanded N20 million in exchange for the victim’s release.
There were rumours that a group of law enforcement officers and other security personnel were prowling the area, looking for any signs that would point to his whereabouts.
The ugly development was confirmed to Vanguard by Lagos State police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin, but he did not provide any information about the incident.
“All I can say is that we got a report like that, but I don’t know who the person is. “All I know is that our men are there, trying everything to get the man back and catch the thugs who took him hostage,” the man stated.
