I’m glad that a young N-Delta fighter is the publisher of Congress newspaper–Omare Esq

Following the unveiling of Congress newspaper, leaders and stakeholders of Niger Delta have continued to express joy and enthusiasm over a core agitator, Comrade Ozobo Austin joining the league of newspaper publishers in Nigeria.

A legal practitioner and former President of Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Eric Omare Esq was among those who lauded the bold and laudable initiative of the publisher.

Omare who spoke at the event at the penultimate week, stated that he was elated that a young Niger Delta fighter and a lover of the media is unveiling his media house, to tell the proper story of the region undiluted.

According to him, the publisher, Ozobo is known for being upright and dedicated to the struggle of the Niger Delta, adding that his drive to create a speaking space for the oppressed people in World, particularly Niger Delta is not a surprise.

The former IYC president Omare noted, “it is a thing of joy that a young Niger Delta fighter and a lover of the media is unveiling his media house, that is comrade Ozobo Austin. I congratulate him first and foremost.

Omar urged the proprietor to set a standard and uphold the tenet of robust journalism, such as objective, balance and quality reportage.

He said, “I expect that Congress newspaper will set its standard. In the quest for Nigeria’s independence and democracy, the media played a leading role. Specifically, in Niger Delta, the media has played a very significant role in our quest for freedom.

“I hope that Congress newspaper will create a niche for himself in objective media reportage. It should have its brand and uphold the tenet of journalism. Most importantly, investigative journalism is very important, I believe that is one area journalism is lacking in Nigeria.

“Above circular news, it should be able to unravel things that are not known by everybody. These are some areas I intend Congress newspaper to explore. Generally, I am happy about what is happening today (Friday ). I expect that they build a standard and distinct partner of reporting their stories.

“I want Congress newspaper to be known for something so that people will scramble to buy the paper, and say that with Congress you can get exclusive stories on key developments in the region. Yes, they should be known for something”, Eric maintained.
