IPAS, CSAF, CONFAB take anti- Killer robots campaign to Army Day Secondary School in Warri

The Initiative For Peace And Stability in collaboration with Civil Society Advance Forum, CSAF, and Conference for the Actualization of Human Rights, CAHR, have took a campaign of say no to use of killer robots in human society to Army Day Secondary School Effurun- Warri, Delta State on Monday.

Congress gathered that the killer robots are autonomous machines or robots which are produced in such a way that with less human control, when they are programmed could able to identify and hit their targets.

It was learnt that the killer robots could kill large number of persons and caused a serious damage to human society.

Speaking at the Army day secondary school, Mrs Tobele Joy , coordinator of Initiative For Peace and Stability said about 30 countries have signed a treaty to ban the production of the species.

According to IPAS, the product should be banned because it lacked human feelings, adding that it can not be retreated once they are deployed to hit a target.

Mrs Joy noted that if human race should continue to exit, now is the time to act: “If it enters into country like Nigeria ,Boko Haram will use it to wipe all out”.She said there was need for the campaign to be taken to young people and school students, stressing: “They are technology generation, they must not be part of the coding to produce killer Robots.

“They need to channel technological advancement to produce things that will help man kind and not producing things that are destructive.“Students should kick against killer robots, a technology discover by China. She outline the implications of allowing killer robots in society”Her words: “killer robots do not have human feelings, once it is targeted a country or state, it doesn’t stop until it kills every human being in that place, that is why some organisations are going around spending their money to campaign against it. Because human lives are precious. Human beings are important. Stop killer robots and protect human lives”.“This killer robots are called fully autonomous weapons, once they go out they don’t retreat, once they are loaded, they don’t come back until they wipe out every human being that exists in that territory, that is why we are appealing to the young ones that have android phones to use every platform to campaign against killer robots, say stop killer robots or stop fully autonomous weapons, because there is nothing good about the killer robots, if you are on Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram etc, please post. “#stopkillerrobotsnow.“Nigerians are campaigning against it because they don’t want it. We are the Nigerians, so we brought to your knowledge the danger of it. Let us come together, put our efforts together and say we don’t want it, most of you here are very broad in technology, so use your vast knowledge, let nobody use you as a tool, use your technology for the betterment of the society”.Also speaking, the state director of Confab, Comrade Monday Enudi said the species must be banned, adding that Nigeria and other Africa countries should call for total ban of the inimical technology introduced to the world by China.Enudi asserted that students should endeavor to campaign against it in their social media handles, stressing that the world may abruptly end with the killer robots technology being introduced by Chinese country.
