IPF Sympathises With Veteran Journalist, William Bozimo Over Death Of Wife, Alice Adibo-Bougbe

Following the sudden death of the wife of a popular Nigerian veteran Journalist, Mr. William Zideke Bozimo popularly known as Willy B, the ljaw Publishers’ Forum, IPF has paid a condolence visit to the bereaved Octogenarian at his residence in Asaba, Delta State Capital on Wednesday.

The IPF delegation led by its National President, Comrade Austin Ozobo on Wednesday, described the passage of late Mrs William Bozimo as a great lost to the bereaved, his immediately family and ljaw nation.

It would be recalled that, Mr. William Zideke Bozimo, popularly known as Willy B was among the pioneer renowned ljaw journalists in the 60s/90s who stood firm to confront the Nigerian military junta’s unfavourable policies and oppression against ljaw nation, and the Niger Delta region at large.

Congress gathered that he suffered a series of arrest and detention by Gen. Yakubu Gowon, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and Gen. Sani Abacha led military administrations in Nigeria.

It was learned that Mr Willy B is the immediate younger brother to the foremost ljaw leader and former Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Broderick Bozimo.

Before his retirement from the noble journalism practice, he first worked with the Daily Times Nigeria Newspaper, The Tide Newspaper of Rivers State, The Delta State owned Newspaper The Pointer among others.

He also served as the Executive Assistant (EA) on Media and Research to the former Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan.

Meanwhile, the corpse of the deceased, Mrs. Alice Adibo-Bougbe Bozimo is currently deposited at the FMC morgue, Asaba, pending final burial arrangement by the family.

However, the late Mrs William Bozimo hailed from Esanpou community in Ekeremor LGA and Ebedebiri Community in Sagbama LGA both in Bayelsa State.
