IYC Lagos chapter appeals to Buhari, Customs to release seized goods for flood victims

The Chairman of Ijaw Youths Council, Lagos chapter, Comrade Tikima L. Arigban has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately order the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS to release all seized goods in the various borders for the flood victims in the country.

This was made available to Congress correspondent in a statement signed by himself on Monday.

The group asserted that instead of destroying and wasting such huge seized goods with the country’s customs service, it was more profitable to release them to the flood victims to cushion their suffering in the country.

The statement read, “As commander in chief, please kindly order the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to release all seized goods to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) as a matter of urgency to be distributed to all the flood-affected states across the country, to cushion the effect of the ravaging flood situation.”
