PDP in Dilemma as Wike camp snubs PDP Edo presidential rally

It appears there is no sign of peace between the warring factions of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP following the withdrawal of the Rivers state governor and his allies from the Atiku’s campaigns in recent times.

Governor Wike and four other governors under the platform of the PDP have continued to evade the party’s activities, including the inauguration of the party’s campaign council, and several presidential rallies and meetings of the party.

It was learned on Saturday that five governors including Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, and Nyesom Wike of Rivers state were absent at PDP presidential campaign at Edo State, a development that had put the party in a dilemma.

There had been several reconciliatory efforts by the party’s leadership but it seemed there is no sigh of relief of peace in the party.

Some have insinuated that Wike and the four other governors of the party may have concluded plans to dump the PDP for APC, others also argued that he would not defect.

Recall, Wike has continued to insist on the removal of the PDP national chairman Iyochia Ayu as a ground for peace in the party.
