The Delta State High Court 2 sitting in Warri has exonerated the founder and general overseer of Victory Revival, Fasting, and Prayer Ministry Inc. of the alleged rape allegation.

The court which was presided over by Hon. Justice A.O Akpovi gave the verdict on Wednesday last week after a rigorous trial that lasted for about two years and some months.

The clergyman was slammed with a 3-count charge evolving rape, drugging the victim, and impersonation.

Recall, the cleric was arrested in some times June 2020 after being alleged of rape by a 19years old girl and was released in late July.

The trial judge upheld that the clergyman was wrongfully accused as there was no substantial evidence to prove the claims of the alleged victim.

He also held that the police failed to carry out a thorough investigation of the allegation before arraigning the clergyman.

Justice Akpovi further added that the doctor failed in his profession as he admitted that he didn’t carry out the most required medical examination on the alleged victim.

The court stated that there was a perceived conspiracy in the arrest and detention of the clergyman.

The learned Justice said he found no merit in the rape allegation against the cleric, adding that he can’t send an innocent man to prison.

The court, in the same vein, said the alleged victim and her witnesses exaggerated their statements and could not prove to convince the court of their claims.

However, the court discharged and acquitted the clergyman of the three- court charges bothering on rape and sundry charges.

Meanwhile, there was heavy jubilation on Sunday as members of the ministry trooped out in their numbers to celebrate the court victory of the clergyman in Warri, Delta state.
