Just in: PDP wins Delta bye-election

Mr. Ovuakpoye Evivie of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has been declared the winner of Delta State House of Assembly by-election in the Isoko South Constituency I.

The election was peaceful across the five wards of Isoko South constituency 1, except the killing of suspected vigilante member in Irri ward.

The Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Christopher Onosemuode, announced the candidate of the PDP, Mr. Ovuakpoye Evivie winner with 6,907 votes, while the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Ogaga Ifowodo came second with 1,301 votes.

However, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Mr. Emumena Micheal scored 1,291 votes.
