Just In: IIA president, Salaco bags Ijaw merit award

The president of the Ijaw interest advocate group, Amb. Yerinmene Arerebo Salaco, Snr has bagged Ijaw merit award over his contributions in advocacy in Ijaw nation.The award was presented to him by Proudly Ijaw National Merit Award 2021 group, led by Mr. Tamsokunbiri MMD, an event which was held at the Bayelsa State Government House Banquet hall on Sunday.

Congress report that the event is an annual event where deserving Ijaw sons and daughters are being honoured for services to the Ijaw nation.

The Izanzan camp president, however was considered by the group in her 2021 award programme as a way of encouragement and recognition for his little efforts in the Ijaw struggle.Speaking shortly after the award programme, Amb. Salaco said: “Indeed I am again overwhelmed, encouraged and strengthened for being a recipient of Ijaw Fearless Youth Activist Man of the Year 2021 at the Bayelsa State Government House Banquet Hall, yesterday 19th December ,2021.

“I want to ultimately thank the Almighty God for again another step further which I will always term as “Godly Grace and Recognition” as I appreciate the organisers of the programme: Proudly Ijaw National Merit Award 2021 board of governing council led by Mr. Tamsokunbiri Mmd for the recognition.

“Again, I dedicate this Award to my role model and lovely father, Late Rt. Hon. GoodGod Arerebo Salaco SNR for modeling me.“At this juncture, am reassuring the Ijaw Nation that on no reason I will compromise my conscience for the detriment of our collective interest but I will always uphold the collective interest of the Ijaw Nation”, he reiterated.
