JUST IN: kidnappers release GIG, ABC buses passengers

Sigh of relief as about 14 travellers who were recently abducted by gunmen at Inele Eteke, in Olalamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State have regained freedom.

 

Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye, of Kogi State disclosed this in a chat with newsmen on Thursday evening.

 

“Just been informed by the DPO that, all the kidnapped victims of God is Good Motors, GIG and ABC have regained their freedom”, he said.

 

It would be recalled that the armed bandits had on Saturday, February 3, 2024, hijacked two buses belonging to GIG and ABC transport companies and whisked away about 14 passengers to an unknown destination.

 

The source said, God is Good Motors was with 12 passengers while ABC was with two passengers.

 

It was earlier reported that Abductors of the 14 passengers of Abuja-bound buses had contacted families of the victims, demanding N15M as ransom.

 

However , Congress is yet to confirm if the ransom was paid prior to the release of the abductees.
