JUST IN: One shot dead in Isoko bye-election

A yet to be identified voter has been shot dead by gunmen in the ongoing Isoko South constituency 1 by-election in Delta State.

The occurred at about 3:15 pm when the armed gunmen invaded Irri Ward 10, polling unit 5, to steal ballot papers used for the election.

It was learnt that the gunmen armed with AK47 riffles shot intermittently in the air to scare away voters and eventual the victim was shot for a reason that could yet be ascertained.

However, the election, before the sad incident has been relatively peaceful.
