The All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Standard Bearer of Labour Party have continued to woo the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike to dump the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and join them in their race to clinch power come 2023 following the outcome of the PDP presidential primary.

Meanwhile, the PDP governors including Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the Atiku’s running mate had also visited the beautiful bride Wike to persuade him not to dump the party, where they allegedly promised him of Petroleum Resources Minister when the party comes to power by 2023.

Meanwhile, there are indications that despite the PDP governors appeal, the Rivers state governor Wike who is aggrieved by the alleged backlash of the party’s vice presidential contest might move to either APC or Labour Party in the coming days.

A source who is privy to the governor Wike’s current move told Congress newspaper that he might move to APC or Labour Party.

He further said that the calculation of Tinubu is to move him to APC to make him his campaign Director General.

However, the former Anambra State governor and the flagbearer of Labour Party, Peter Obi had equally appealed to him to join the Labour Party, during his visit to the Rivers State Government House on Wednesday.

It was reported that Obi and Wike entered an indoor meeting on Wednesday which lasted for several hours to discuss a possible merger and alignments.

However, Wike’s silence since his botched vice and presidential contests have been creating tension and suspicion in the political circle of the PDP.

It would be recalled that the PDP Special Committee had earlier voted in favour of Wike but Atiku reportedly rejected the decision of the committee and picked Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.
