Pandemonium in Asaba as students of Delta State School of Marine Technology, Burutu, have stormed Asaba, the capital of Delta State to protest against the non accreditation of the school after several years of establishment.

The protesting students in early hours of Wednesday accused Delta state government of failing to make efforts towards accrediting the school and its academy programmes.

The students were armed with placards of different inscriptions such as ‘Accredit our school for us, Marine students want to go to NYSC, Desomatec a marine institution or Polytechnic? We want infrastructural development, and others.

The students who lamented over infrastructural decay in the school called for immediate accreditation of the school and programmes its offered.

It was learnt that the school which ought to have function as marine institution has been reduced to a status of secondary school.

Congress recalled that the school was established in sometime 2007 to offer professional marine courses but since its creation successive Delta state governments have refused to accredit it.
