The Niger Delta Creek Movement, NDCM, has strongly condemned the shooting of unarmed female student protester by police at the NPDC headquarters in Benin city on Thursday.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Comrade Timipre Ndoni, the group’s president on Thursday.

According to him: “It has come to my notice that, a female Student of Niger Delta Student Union Government (NIDSUG) has been shot by a Nigerian Police Officer attached to NPDC headquarters at Benni, Edo state.

“I hereby call on the minister of petroleum resources, Chief Timipre Sylva and IG of the Nigerian Police Force to swing into action by bringing the trigger-happy police officers to justice.

“It’s provocative that a police officer has the impetus to open fire at unarmed protesters for no reason. This is totally a deliberate act and he must face the justice, else the Niger Delta Youths will shutdown the NPDC headquarters for justice to prevail” the group asserted.
