Kaduna: 25% appropriated for education sector-Chairman House committee

The Member Representing Zaria City Constituency and Chairman Kaduna state House of Assembly Committee on Education, Honourable Mahmud LawaI lsma’ila, said Kaduna state Government has made 25 Percent in its 2024 Appropriation Budget to Education Sector in the state.

 

The Education Committee Chairman made this at the Commissioning of Three Class Rooms of Staff School, Built by the National Open University in Kaduna, adding that the government would continue to give Education sector must priority attention been education is the bedrock of any meaningful development.

 

He emphasised that, as the Kaduna state Governor came to power to reduce School Fees in the state, “he also built additional Class Rooms and built new ones across the state, apart from Security, the Governor takes education as most important” -the statement added.

 

LawaI, explained that Education is everyone’s responsibility that need all hands to be on deck, “we don’t have to really on Government alone to take all the tasks, government alone cannot do all, hence the need for others to emulate this kind gesture by assisting and supporting the government through building more schools across the state.

 

Also Speaking the Vice Chancellor Olufemi Peters, Represented by Professor lsaac Sammani Butswat , this follow the need to add additional class rooms in our Staff School, Primary Section, for the Pupils to have conducive environment for learning.

 

“Out of our budget we put in place to realized this building today that we are commissioning now, l hope the Schools will use it for teaching up our children and neighbouring communities”.

 

Also commenting, the Director Centre for human Resources development, CHRD Dr, Aminu Umar, said: “Today we’re commissioning Three Class rooms that was built by the National Open University for the Staff School, without single Kobo either from Kaduna state government or individuals.

 

He maintained that the schools were known for teaching Science based subjects and modern technologies in order for the pupils to be updated. “We’re doing this to compliment the efforts of Kaduna state government which commenced the building and rehabilitation of existing ones.

 

“I, want to use this Medium to Commensurate with the Kaduna state government over what happened for the tragic incident for the abduction of Primary school pupils in Kuriga, this is an deliberate effort to stop education in Northern Nigeria, calling on the security agencies to double their efforts towards ensuring safe return of this children, he added, highlight of the event was commissioning of the project.”
