Kidnapped Former Delta Commissioner regains freedom

The Delta State Police Command has confirmed that former Commissioner for Technical Education and former House of Representatives member, Hon. Joan Onyemaechi, has been released by her kidnappers.

She was abducted and held for ransom, with the kidnappers initially demanding 1 billion naira.

However, it is unclear if any ransom was paid before her release. According to reports, Onyemaechi regained her freedom late on Friday night and had returned to the state capital.

The police spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed her release.
