Panic as reps set up fresh c’mtte to probe scandal in petroleum sector

The Speaker of the House of Representatives in Nigeria, Abbas Tajudeen, has appointed a new 7-member panel to join a joint committee investigating alleged economic sabotage in the petroleum and gas sector. This follows the dissolution of a previous ad-hoc committee tasked with probing misconduct in the industry. The new committee includes:

 

1. Prof Julius Ihonvbere (House Leader) – co-chairman

2. Iduma Ighariwey

3. Gboyega N. Isiaka

4. Sada Soli

5. Fatima Talba

6. Tunji Raheem

7. Patrick Umoh, PhD

 

The committee aimed to work closely with the Senate to ensure a holistic approach to addressing issues in the sector, with a focus on synergy, efficiency, and administrative coordination.
