Macaulay Urges Delta APC Leaders to Resolve Differences
By Stephen Asaba-ase
Former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Chief Ovuozourie Macaulay, has appealed to leaders and elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State to put aside their differences and work towards a united front. This comes amid alleged plans to suspend the State party Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie.
In a statement released over the weekend, Macaulay emphasized the need for internal resolution of misunderstandings, acknowledging that criticisms of Elder Sobotie’s management style are valid. However, he stressed that the party cannot afford to be divided, especially with the chairman’s tenure nearing its end.
Macaulay warned that any crisis could lead to unforeseen consequences, hindering a smooth transition. He urged party leaders and faithful to remain calm and allow the party’s reconciliation mechanisms to function.
The full statement reads: “Anything contrary to the smooth running of our party towards the remaining months of conducting Congress will not be good enough for our party. Any dislocation will cause an infraction that will result in several unknown issues that the party may not be able to come out of. I am therefore appealing to all party leaders and party faithful to remain calm and sheath their swords and give the reconciliation mechanisms of the party a chance.”
