By Peters Monday, Abuja
The Police in Ughelli Area Command of Delta State, in a joint effort with the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) led by Comrade (Elder) A.P. Edariese, have arrested a man identified as Mr Daddy Odiete for allegedly posting his girlfriend’s nude photograph on social media following the girl’s decision to end the relationship.
Congress learnt that the suspect has been taken to police custody in “A” Division in Ughelli, Delta State.
It was gathered that the suspect had evaded arrest for approximately two months following the incident until he was eventually apprehended through the combined efforts of the police and the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), Delta State chapter.
However, the victim (name withheld), had reported the incident to the Nigeria Police Force, Area Command, Ughelli, in August, and the CDHR, swung into action, leading to the apprehension of the elusive perpetrator.
This is according to a statement signed and sent to newsmen by the CDHR Delta State Chairman, Comrade A.P. Edariese on Friday.
He said, “This incident is one of too many of its kind in our present-day society and should serve as a deterrent to others with similar intentions.”
CDHR, however, appreciated the Area Commander of the Delta Central Area Command, Ughelli, for his efforts in apprehending the suspect.
