MD Waffi TV, Akemotubo Writes Tinubu Open Letter, Commends Otuaro’s Appointment, Insists On Firm Decisions For Governance

The MD/CEO Waffi Tv, PST Arex Akemotubo has written an open letter to the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting on making firm decisions for the country in devoid of sentiments and bias.

This was contained in an open letter which he wrote to the president on Tuesday, adding that Chief Dr Dennis Otuaro’s appointment stands as a testament to a government that values competence, which according to him is a clear commitment to the well-being of all its citizens.

He, however, counselled against succumbing to sentiments that disregard the fabric of inclusion and meritocracy within governance of the country, noting that Tinubu’s administration had showed an unwavering commitment to creating a government where merit, capability, and inclusion are the bedrock upon which decisions are made.

The broadcast CEO, stressed that the approach for reward for service had not only strengthened the integrity of our public institutions but had also sent a bold message that excellence and a dedication to service are the true attributes that qualify one to serve.

The letter reads:

Dear President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,

For the utmost respect for your considered decision-making in leading our great nation. I write to you concerning the recent appointment of Chief Dennis Otuaro as Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, an appointment that has been met with some resistance, according to the press release from the Delta State APC Transparency and Advocacy Group (DSATAG) dated 8th April, 2024.

It is pertinent at this juncture to counsel against succumbing to sentiments that disregard the fabric of inclusion and meritocracy within our governance. Your leadership has shown an unwavering commitment to creating a government where merit, capability, and inclusion are the bedrock upon which decisions are made. This approach has not only strengthened the integrity of our public institutions but has also sent a bold message that excellence and a dedication to service are the true attributes that qualify one to serve.

Chief Dennis Otuaro is a figure whose experience and track record speak for themselves. His profound knowledge and exceptional service in various capacities have earned him numerous accolades and the respect of his peers. His dedication to fostering peace and development within the Niger Delta region has not gone unnoticed and it stands to reason that his expertise will be highly beneficial to the Amnesty Programme.

While it is undeniably advantageous to consider party loyalty and the reward system within the political structure, it is also wise to recognize that for certain appointments, the encompassing need of the nation should supersede partisan considerations. The role of Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme is a sensitive one that directly affects the welfare of a distinctive region and its people, where the capacity to navigate multifaceted challenges must take precedence.
